Watt Bike No Excuses Sportive - 5th March

The previous day Alex had completed a 200km out of Great Dunmow with PW. This had had better than expected weather. However, this meant that the delayed bad weather moved to this ride!
It was a long way up to Southwell with another very early start and short,  broken nights sleep. The only consolation was we were ahead of the bad weather so made it to the first feed station dry and in quick time. Unfortunately just as the rain got going and turned into a deluge, John had a puncture complicated by discovering a lack of puncture repair items on his person. Luckily Alex had switched to his fatter tyred bike and was able to offer equipment. However, the stop caused John to suffer from extreme cold and so after a further 10 miles they decided to take a short cut back to the start, and about 40 miles overall. It did mean Alex  got to see the impressive Southwell Workhouse!
