Category 6 ride led by Danny Hood

Waking up to the sound of rain hammering down on the roof and another cold only a few weeks after shaking of the last one, meant I thought I'd drawn the short straw. However the rain stopped and the sun even made an appearance as I arrived at HQ. I was banking on about 6 hardy souls,  but was amazed to see 16 as we approached 9.30
Out through the Hadhams and Albury, we were just arriving at Bishops Stortford as the clock ticked round to 11o'clock. Despite three different clocks telling slightly different times we stopped and had our usual two minute silence. The café was, as usual, not fazed by the number of us turning up, and managed to feed and water everyone in good time and for a reasonable price. Jane got a bit panicky when she couldn't find the key to her bike lock. Luckily it was in a safe place (still in the lock!). Panic over...
Ian stood in for the missing Bruno (ear ache!..... now he lives with one of the fairer sex.... I'm just saying... coincidence?) and loaded up on a lasagne, chips and salad combo. On a few flooded roads, Martin took on the role played on the big screen by a certain Daniel Day Lewis. Martin starred in his own version of 'My Wet Left Foot', and what a performance! You should have seen it darlings, they will be taking about it for years. Larry would have been proud..
About 36 miles and, I'm guessing, an average speed of 12mph...no Garmin today.
