Cat 6 run led by Bob B
Where do I begin, to tell the story?...

What a wonderful ride, perfect weather, lovely route, great company.

Fifteen set off via Bramfield (ignoring the road closed signs by Hertford Cemetery) where the first stop was made for one member to take on water from the village shop. Then via Woolmer Green, Nup End and a little loop before St Pauls Walden saw us all safely to the café. En route we had been overtaken by that other local club, and sure enough, they were also going to Emily’s. When we got there, there was an enormous queue so we decided to give it a miss and go to Codicote Garden Centre. But wait, two of the group discovered that they had punctures. So around half of the group decided that it was worth queuing while the flats were repaired. Others, who couldn’t be *rsed  to wait set off for Codicote. After a very pleasant sojourn in the sun at Emily’s, including meeting up with Adrian and Mrs Hughes, the official party set off for home, only to receive a telephonic communication from the others who, clearly wracked with guilt at having gone off on their own, confirmed that they had altruistically decided to wait at the Robin Hood and Little John pub, where they were imbibing the odd half while they waited.
Captain Bob managed to get the group lost briefly in Codicote (!?!) before the two groups were  reunited, and we set off for home with no mishaps apart from one member falling off when distracted by a lady walking her dog! No harm was done to the lady, dog or rider!

Just in case he forgot to mention it to anyone, the reason that Mike left the ride at Whitwell was that he had a very important appointment at Wembley where his beloved Grimsby Town were about to complete his magical week by adding the FA Trophy to last week’s promotion back to the Football League!
