Combined Cat 3, 5, 6 ride led by Mike E
After seeing the winter wonderland from their bedroom windows, most regular riders opted for a lie in, then brought logs in from their shed, started up a roaring fire and ate toasted crumpets and drank mulled wine for most of the morning, ignoring the opportunity of getting cold on a bike. Those without a supply of logs, or indeed a log shed - how can anyone in the fifth richest economy in the world not have a log shed? -, fetched up in Ware at 9.30. An eclectic mix of category 3, 5 & 6 log free riders morphed into one group, the category 6 to Bishops Stortford. The route avoided potentially treacherous lanes, sticking to major-ish roads via Much Hadham. The return followed a similar route. There were no incidents with 11 setting setting off, 10 reaching the Mocca cafe, covering 27 miles in all. Back by 12.30, allowing plenty of time during the afternoon to browse on www.log-sheds.co.uk.
