Cat 6 run led by Bob B
Ten hardy souls (all men) assembled at Hartham for the post Christmas Cat 6 ride to Church Farm, Ardeley just as the heavens decided to open. Not heavy rain, but the sort that wets you as we say up north. Conversation was pretty much all about Christmas eating and drinking excesses and with no delays whatsoever despite the presence of several Jonah’s we got to Church Farm early. With no other customers present we got a very rapid turnaround, and another trouble free but wet leg saw all 10 of us get back to Hartham by the most direct route – all soaked but feeling heroic!

Cat 5 (PW)
Four hardy souls (all men) set off from Hartham for the post Christmas Cat 5 ride to the Hub, Redbourn - (NB. I'll admit to a slight tadsworth of plagiarism here!)  Soon we were down to three as PaulS decided that the pace was too slow as evidenced by the group leader's reluctance in trying to catch and pass the easies.  However, by the time that we got to Datchworth we were a fivesome as a father\son combo had baled out from the sixters and baled into the fivers.  At Redbourn we were greeted to an empty cafe and plenty of bin-liners to sit on.  We probably weren't there for more than half an hour but at the end there were customers queuing for our seats.  The weather overall was pretty lousy and we had many new and large lakes to navigate but eventually the sun did make a break for it and try to cheer us up.  Forty miles at a pace that I could manage.  PW.
