Cat 5 run led by Cathy P
10 riders set out from Ware on a lovely sunny morning.  Briefly joined by Franco as the Cat 6 caught us up, we were later joined by Graeme, who had been cycling in the opposite direction.  Outward bound was via the tried and tested route of the Hadhams, Brent Pelham, Anstey & Wyddial.   Arriving at the café in Buntingford, the Cat 6 were occupying the best seats in the house; namely outside in the sun.  Seemingly reluctant to give up their seats for us, and who can blame them, the cat 5 went inside.    On the return leg with reduced numbers, there was an incident with Graeme’s spokes.   The offending spoke was soon dealt with and no further problems until just outside of Ware.   Here we met two young women fixing a puncture.  Asked by one of the women if he had magic hands, Bob “magic hands” Brown, as he will from now on be known, jumped to the rescue.  Never one to miss an opportunity to help a woman, this made his day.  His words not mine!

Cat 2 run led by Sam B
Warm sunshine led to the early removal of arm warmers at the start of the Cat 2 ride today. Having only two riders and therefore an absence of any other suggestions of a route, Lib and Sam set off on a loop around Stevenage. From Ware to Puckeridge, Ardeley then Graveley, St. Paul's Walden to Hertford via Datchworth. Thankfully, no punctures or mechanicals. There were plenty of other cyclists also out and about taking advantage of the light winds and September sunshine. 57 miles, 15.6 average. Just over 2000 ft of climbing.

Cat 6 run led by Danny H
On a glorious autumn day the cat 6 crew minus a few regulars set off for the delights of coffee and cake in Buntingford. As it turned out the cat 5 team were also heading to the same destination, luckily though they were going via a slightly longer route, giving us the chance of pipping them there and claiming all of the seats outside in the sun.  We managed to do this even though Franco tried his hardest to scupper our plans with yet another puncture on the way.  Mama Mia...Our Italian Elvis is really cursed at the moment!.
Two decided to make their way home using the old A10 while the rest of us went back to base via Aspenden , Westmill, Nasty and up Whitehill.
