Weather forecast rain and wind all morning so let's go for a 53 mile bike ride! 4 set off from Glaxo at a brisk pace with a favourable wind to Puckeridge where there were no takers for the alternative start point. Continued via the Mundens, Anstey, Nuthampstead, Gt. Chishill, Elmdon, Strethall ("the village that time forgot" according to Sarah), Littlebury Green and Arkesden to the haven of the excellent Clavering Lakes café, (they really appreciate the courtesy of a call the day before to ensure we can be accommodated). Thence return via Deers Green, Stocking and Furneux Pelham (where Sarah headed for home), and Barwick. An enjoyable hilly ride despite the adverse weather which actually wasn't too bad after all. No incidents mechanical or otherwise.

13 soggy Easies made the short trip to Codicote Garden Centre, with just the one puncture on the way out and two on the way back. Only 27 miles but plenty of hills, including the climb up to Ayot St Lawrence. Franco set a new record time for a puncture repair, completing it before the watching Wheelers could tell him how to do it!
