Cat 5 run with John F
A much better day than forecast with no ice, rain or snow saw 14 members and guests set out from Ware through Wareside, Widford, Perry Green, Green Tye, Allens Green, Sawbridgeworth, Sheering, Newmans Greens (1st puncture of the day), Matching Tye, Matching Green, Ardley End to Hatfield Heath village tearoom. With more staff on duty and fewer other cyclists to serve than on our previous visit we were soon on our return leg via Ryes Lane, Hatfield Forest, Little Hallingbury (2nd puncture of the day). 3 stayed behind to help fix it and the rest of us carried on through Spellbrook, Green Tye, Much Hadham, Wareside back to Ware. 40 miles.

Cat 6 run with Danny H
We made good time and got to the corner cafe, Bishop stortford at around 11am only to find that it was about a quarter the size it used to be and was more or less derelict. We then  decided to make our way to cafe mocha the only problem being none of us could remember where it was. After doing a lap of the ring road we eventually found it and was really impressed with the service, refreshments and great value for money prices.  A quick blast back to Ware finished off a nice ride. Kevin Paget was with us until we were passed by the training ride. He latched on to the back of that and left us to carry on to the cafe without him.

Cat 3 run with Ian P
Only 2 of us on the medium from Much Hadham! As it turned out the weather was very reasonable (dry, calm and not too cold) although the roads were dirty.  The ride out was uneventful except for a GPS induced  3 mile diversion down a dead end! Because there was only two of us the pace was fast (for a medium) with no punctures or dramas.  The Lordship tea room was busy.. we were too late for the cooked breakfast but their fresh scones were superb! Training run with Clive W
There were 12 out for the training ride which went out to Hatfield Heath via Stanstead Abbots, Widford, Perry Green, Spellbrook, Hatfield Broad Oak and then back via Sawbridgeworth and Much Hadham.  Another good base/endurance session with an average pace of 15.5 mph over the 38 mile loop.  The highlight had to be catching and passing the easy ride which involved a considerable amount of shouting and banter from both sides.  At this point Kevin Paget decided to defect from the Easy ride to the Training ride taking us up to 13.  The training will continue next week.
