Cat 6 run led by Danny H
Leading the first cat 6 to happen in this new era of political turmoil was always going to be a poison chalice. Would the peloton still be allowed to be called the peloton? Would the riders form their own groups along the lines of inners our outers or would they put their differences behind them for the sake of detente? It being the day of the club barbeque the ride had been shortened slightly, giving those who fancied a burnt burger or cremated sausage the chance to go home and line their stomach or at least pick up some Rennie's! . The ride to Puckeridge went smoothly with everyone still riding on the left side of the road!......... Thanks to the leave vote....... take that EU. The problems started though on arrival at the café or as it's got to be called now the CAFE. Firstly I was informed that all coffee now could only be the instant type and none of that Poncey stuff out of a machine and secondly that Belgium buns were from now to be know as England buns. What have we done?!!!!!!! Can we have another referendum now I understand what Thursdays result really means to the UK? God I do hope so!
It was good to see Julie back riding again but a shame that Mr North was unwell ( or so we thought) turns out his ironing is now all up to date!
One puncture on the return leg was quickly fixed by an expert engineer, team leader and thoroughly good egg... Guess who that was? Then it was all back to Allenburys for the cremation... Oh no sorry I mean BBQ expertly managed by Mark and his trusty team. Well done guys really good work, it seemed everyone had a great time. I especially liked the fixed raffle! First prize MARK and the next ten Martin. I'm sure I saw Pickford's lorry in the car park loading his prizes.
A great day all-round and a big thanks to all who made it possible.
