Club run reports - 24th July

Category 6 ride led by Claire Gopolous

A band of seven happy, if slightly jaded, souls met at Allenbury’s just before 8, missing Tony, our leader, who was feeling sadly under the weather. Claire stepped in to lead the ride to Bretts Café and set off promptly using her excellent navigation skills. Obviously, having the route pre-loaded on Garmin helped a bit.

Graham, a prospective new member, was on the ride attempting his first 40 miler, which he completed with ease and was therefore encouraged by other riders that his next step was 50 miles. Paul, one of our new members, reported on his first attempt of the Brickendon Time Trial on the preceding Tuesday, which he enjoyed (kind of!) and completed in excellent time….next year’s series are on his cycling ‘to do’ list. Well done both Graham and Paul.

Weather conditions were perfect for the ride and the sun came out which made the particularly scenic route even more idyllic. Lots of quiet roads made this a great ride for all today.
