Club run reports - 21st September

Category 6 ride led by Ian Bailey
With most of the regular category 6 riders either making sandcastles or connecting electricity to a cave, a very select group set off just after dawn from Ware. Exceptionally, the group featured only one Kevin. 

Strava PBs toppled as we stormed along a hilly course, battling strong headwinds and occasionally seeing Kevin in the distance. We arrived at the cafe in bright sunlight just after the 10 o'clock opening time. Coffee was good, tea good - though not served in a pot - and the cheese toasties and fruit cake were exceptional. We fed none of the food to the cafe dog, though other customers were less strong-willed. 

The return was pleasant and mainly downhill, with a brief stop at Highway Cycles to ensure that David’s bike will be in PB-shattering condition for next week’s ride.
