Club ride reports - 21st December

The shortest day of the year and the shortest category 3 ride - just 42 miles. Lest you think we had shortened our ride in case we wouldn't make it back before dark - no! We had decided to forsake the normal cat 3 regime of abstinence and rigorous dietary control  in order to gather at Allenbury's to mark the season with half pints of low-calorie, alcohol-free, diet lager. Five of us assembled, though one arrived late and on foot having failed to make the 9:00 ride start.

The ride itself went pretty smoothly, though routing was occasionally sketchy due to the leader having loaded the wrong route. He then spent the whole ride wondering why his Garmin continuously protested that we were on the wrong road.

Having imbibed (in moderation) we each headed home to do a strenuous turbo session to burn off all the extra calories.
