Cat 5 run led Ian S
The unusual thing about this run was that nobody turned up at the start! However undeterred I set out to Blackmore via Matching Green, Fyfield and Willingale. Cream tea at Megarrys Antiques, and then as I was alone spent some time admiring and photographing the 50 or so veteran cars taking part in a run which Megarrys were hosting. Having witnessed them chug and clank their way off the village duck pond green I returned by a route taking in Beauchamp and Abbess Roding. A 64 mile ride through gorgeous Essex lanes on a glorious October day, cyclists everywhere.

Cat 3 run led by Peter B.

The Cat 3s gathered in beautiful sunshine at Cole Green after the Time Trial.  There were nine of us; three strong men who had just ridden the TT and six of us mere mortals.  Out through Essendon, Welham Green and Colney Heath, then around the East side of Saint Albans to Sandridge then Harpenden before stopping at The Hub in Redbourn for coffee and cakes although seating was in short supply (then noticed seats outside at the back just as we were leaving!).  Slightly shorter run back through Wheathampstead, Old Welwyn, Digswell then the wrong way round the back of the Panshanger TT course before looping through Hertingfordbury on the return to Cole Green.  Forty miles for a perfectly pleasant post-race potter!

Cat 6 run led by Danny H
14 wheelers met at the start in Hertford on a bright but chilly morning that soon turned into a glorious day. The first thing we were asked, was " had we all checked our NUTS! This morning? " you can imagine the responses that question received.
We made it almost all the way to Emily's before the dreaded puncture curse struck. This gave captain Bob the opportunity of being the knight in shining armour and teacher of basic puncture repair all in one. After refreshments at Emily's we made our way back via Kimpton and Codicote before the group somehow managed to split into two. One led by cube Danny going through Tewin the other choosing to go back via the route we had taken on the journey out to Whitwell.  Everyone  did make it back to base eventually ( more or less ).
Great ride, great weather, great company.
