mailto: Cat 5 run led by Ian S
Fourteen set out to Hare Street on a slightly chilly start to what turned out to be a perfect day via Hunsdon, Widford, Perry Green, Bishops Stortford, Manuden, Furneaux Pelham, and Little Hormead. Incredibly sat outside in the garden at the wrong end of October for our cheerfully served refreshments. Returned on the well worn route through Buntingford, Great Munden, Standon and Barwick Ford. The inevitable compelling statistics were 43 miles at a 14 mph overall average and 3 punctures sustained by a single wheel.

Cat 6 run led by Bob B
On a lovely autumn morning, Capt Bob led a group of 11 Wheelers to The Village Tearoom, Hatfield Heath , the outward ride being via Wareside, Babbs Green, Much Hadham, Perry Green, Green Tye, Allens Green, Sawbridgeworth and Sheering. A nice social ride punctuated only by the one puncture (Franco wasn’t out today). With no-one interested in responding to Capt Bob’s mention that Arsenal were top of the Premier League, the conversation turned to Strictly Come Dancing, or rather the lady dancers on it. After the usual excellent refreshments at the Village Tearooms, the group wended it’s way back via Hatfield Broad Oak, Little Hallingbury, Spellbrook, Green Tye, Bourne Lane and Widford, where, on the hill, we swept up a very sociable CTC chap who stayed with us to the finish. With some of the friskier riders off the front, the group was split in two by closed crossing gates at St Margarets station. Hopefully, everyone got home ok. 35 miles @ 12.5mph
