Cat 3 run led by Mark T
6 Wheelers set off from Allenburys heading to Finchingfield with a wind assisted ride there. We made good time with no incidents apart from Vince falling off his bike as he was unable to unclip at a junction in Sawbridgeworth.  This was right in front of a van much to the drivers amusement but all was ok. Just a little graze on his knee! The café was welcoming  and quick to serve us all.  After we  were all fed we left and  headed straight back  into a head wind.  This made the ride a lot harder.  Back through Thaxsted, Stansted, Much Hadham and back into Ware.  All enjoyed the 67 mile ride in sunshine which made a change!

Fourteen set off on a lovely sunny morning, only for one to fall at the
first fence, with a failing free-hub. Wisely, the poor unfortunate decided
to call it a day, only yards from the start point. The remainder enjoyed a
lovely ride out via  Cold Christmas, Much Hadham, Perry Green, Green Tye ,
Spellbrook and then New Barn Lane, Little Hallingbury, to Hatfield Broad
Oak. Just a gentle meander down another couple of country lanes took us to
the busy fruit farm. However, efficient service in the tearooms meant that
we weren’t delayed unduly. Good grub too!
We had to pick our way through a village fete at Hatfield Heath as we
headed back via Sheering, Back Lane and a route through the back streets
of Sawbridgeworth that I hadn’t known existed until one of our lady
members pointed it out recently. Allens Green, Green Tye, Perry Green and
Bourne Lane took us back to Widford, where the Broxit crew peeled off for
home.

38 miles, no punctures.
