We are affiliated to Cycling Time Trials (CTT) which allows our members to ride events on public roads under their regulations and insurance. From March to October we run regular (mainly weekday evening) Club time trials on local courses. The most popular distance is 10 miles which is an excellent introduction for a beginner to racing or for regular racers to hone their speed. For longer distances and faster competition our racing members compete in Open Events both locally and around the country up to National Championship level. The Club promotes our own Open 10 mile Time Trial event.
Please see the schedule and results for this season and details of the courses the club uses.
Members of other CTT-affiliated clubs are welcome to take part in our "10s". There will be a £5 entry fee. Please ensure you arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time.
"Come and Try"
Most of our TT events are registered as "Come and Try" events with the CTT. You can enter these events even if you are not a member of a CTT-affiliated club. Contact our Racing Secretary for more information.
How to enter
During the Covid pandemic entries are online only. Please go to the club shop to enter.
Wheelers TTs on the F20
The Club 10-mile TTs that take place on the F20 (A10) course are popular and attract private entries from other clubs. This season we are permitting private entries and a maximum of 35 riders in each event.
Please note that 12 of the 35 start places will be reserved for Wheelers' club members provided they have signed on by 30 minutes before the start. Contact our Racing Secretary for more information.
We are affiliated to British Cycling (Federation) which, together with an individual membership, allows our members to compete in bunch start racing on public roads and also on closed track events. We are fortunate in being close to Welwyn track and Olympic Velodrome which several of our racing members use. Our Club is also affiliated to several local time trial and road race organisations covering Hertfordshire, Essex and North London. This gives our members priority entry to their events and the ability to compete for their trophies. Contact our Racing Secretary for more information.
